Doud’s Market is the oldest family-operated grocery store in the United States of America! When you step foot into Doud’s Market, you are supporting local family business in such a special way - as the family business has been operated in 1884.
Next time you come in to shop with us, take a moment to notice the family pictures on the walls - pictures of James and Patrick Doud who founded Doud’s Market back in 1884. Notice the pictures of what Mackinac Island used to look like back in the day!
Things have changed over the years - Doud’s Market used to be known as Doud Bros. and then Doud’s Mercantile, but is now called Doud’s Market. The shop is now on the corner of Main Street, next to Marquette Park. Despite these changes, we believe that what has made us successful over the years is that Doud’s Market aims to serve the community of Mackinac Island with care, quality and convenience.
